Ostatu is identity and territory. Ostatu is the story of a family deeply connected to the land, of vineyards passed down from generation to generation, of an honest and respectful way of making wine.
It is narrative and expression —a story that continues to be written with each harvest, each bottle, and each glass. A vision that balances tradition and the future, keeping alive the values of those who came before us. Today, Gonzalo, Mariasun, and Iñigo carry on this legacy with a firm gaze towards the future.
Ostatu is family, our own vineyards, and sustainability. In Samaniego, at the heart of Rioja Alavesa, our winery reflects our identity: 36 hectares divided into 50 micro-plots, shaped by the Cantabrian mountain range and a unique microclimate. It represents a commitment to organic viticulture, to respecting the land and its natural rhythms, and to seeking the finest expression of our landscape in every wine.
Ostatu is a word of welcome, a place where wine is a celebration and conversation. Spaces such as the txoko, the wine bar, or the memory room invite you to share, discover, and feel. Like the old roadside inn from which we take our name, we remain true to the principle of hospitality—everyone is welcome.
