A daring vineyard. When in the 60s no one thought of planting above our town, our grandfather became infatuated with this spot.

Poor, thin soil with very superficial calcic rock. He planted the most difficult area with viura, leaving the area with the coolest soil for the Tempranillo.

With Laderas we wanted to incorporate the concept of plot into our wines, giving greater prominence to the vineyard than to the wine making process or the aging. This is a wine that maintains the calcareous character of the soil, with great finesse provided by the white grapes, which refine it and give it greater elegance

Vineyard: El Portillo, planted in 1968 at 620m above sea level.
95% Tempranillo, 5% Viura

Wine-Making

Selection in the vineyard, only the best grapes reach the winery.
Perfect destemming so that the berries remain whole as if they were shelled by hand.
Pre-fermentative cold maceration and alcoholic fermentation in small oak vat for 14 days at a maximum temperature of 25º.
Small pump overs and treading before reaching medium fermentation.
Malolactic in new French oak barrels from six famous coopers (Taransaud, Sylvain, Saint Martin, Daranjou, Francois Freres, Seguin Moreau) of which 4 are 500l and 4 are 225l.
Subsequently refined in barrels for 14 months.
The wine has not undergone any stabilization process

Tasting notes

Intense and violet cherry color.
On the nose, ripe red and black fruit appears (cherries, red and black plums), soft floral touch with some wild fruit notes.
Deep balsamic background and sweet spice.
It has a tasty fruity mouthfeel, with a freshness sensation and a longitudinal trace of acidity. With volume, structure, sweet and polished tannins that extend the sensation of fleshiness.
It ends with a terroir mineral note.
Good projection and long life.
